These five techniques are effleurage (light touch), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (compression), and vibration. Deep Tissue Massage

This is a more intensive form of Swedish massage that reaches the underlying layers of muscle tissue and fascia. It releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on contracted areas. The technique is a full body massage, however it focuses special attention on the neck, back and shoulders. Deep tissue may cause some soreness during or right after the massage, however, within a day or two you will feel better than ever.

It also reduces swelling in the hands and feet.  Utilizing a safe "sideline" method, all essential areas to an effective massage are accessible. Pillows are used to allow the expectant mother to be in the most comfortable position while receiving a relaxing massage. You must be beyond your first trimester (13 weeks) in order to recieve prenatal massage.
